East to Japan

Tuesday, October 12th and October 13th.

Well, we have decided that there has to be some way to fly overseas WITHOUT having to make such an early flight out of Sacramento. That getting up at 2:30am to be ready for the 3:30am Super Shuttle is for the birds! Of course, it is also impossible to get to sleep when you know that you have to be up so early – at least it is for me! (Charlie of course, was sleeping soundly away.)

We had to wait for about 15 minutes out on the tarmac while the little shuttle plane was fueled – someone had forgotten to do it and they were starting to load us - someone goofed! The flight to Tokyo was very smooth - just so LONG! (Yes, we are spoiled in Business Class!) We both slept some, but since I (Mary) have an icky cold it was a forever flight!

The arrival procedure was very smooth and we were quite impressed with the airport limousine bus service. You tell them the area you are going, get your ticket, go out and they direct you to the right line – taking care of your luggage. We were lucky because our bus went directly to our hotel. It was about an hour and a half ride from the airport to the downtown area.

One thing we have noticed, it is like everything is “muted” – not much noise considering how large Tokyo is – no cell phones were allowed on the bus!

We checked in had some dinner and then went to bed at 8pm!

  1. Your plane looks quite deluxe! Nice! I hope the cold fades fast. Yuck.
